ADJUSTABLE AND FIXED MICROPIPETTE

One of the important tools in the laboratory is micropipette. These tools usually used in research for biology, chemistry, biotechnology, pharmautical or medicine field. Micropipette is used to take small volume of liquid by aspirated with tip. Range of volume can be aspirated from less than 1 ul to 1000 ul (1 ml). There is two type range volume of micropipette, that is Adjustable micropipette and Fixed micropipette, in addition there are two types according to channel pipette, that is single channel pipette and multichannel (usually there are 8-channel and 12 channel).









Adjustable volume micropipette there is range for volume e.g size 2-200 ul, so that you can adjus the volume that you needed. While fixed volume only one size e.g 10 ul or 20 ul. Use micropipette is depend on needed the researcher, if to make a sample with variable size maybe researcher can use Adjustable volume pipette.

For maintenance pipette can autoclavable in all of part or only on lower part. Pipette must be calibrated to get accurately measured. At the moment we can found many brand of micropipette like Eppendorf, Thermo, Jencons, Boeco, Gilson, etc.
